It's that time of the year again here in Argentina, and the National Carnaval is running. It's a toned down version compared to Brazil, but if you live or visit here it's much closer and safer- a more relaxed environment and quite spectacular.
Consider it more of a "family setting". If you go, expect it to start later than the posted time, and the show runs into the wee hours. If you go for the day (from BsAs), make sure take a good nap, or expect to get a hotel room as you'll be exhausted!
